2024.6.13 "The Models of Gender Equality Practices in Enterprise" Workshop

The workshop on "The Models of Gender Equality Practices in Enterprise" was held at the Main Engineering Building of Tamkang University on June 13, 2024.

This workshop was led by Dr. Su-Ling Fan, the director of CLC (Tamkang University Construction Law Research and Development Centre), and co-organized by the TWiST (Taiwan Women in Science and Technology), the Women in Engineering Committee of CIE (Chinese Institute of Engineers), CLC (Tamkang University Construction Law Research and Development Centre), and the Department of Civil Engineering at Tamkang University.

The keynote speaker was Wan-Yi Lan, the HR Manager at Kedge Construction Co., Ltd. The panelists were Ling-Er Liou, Deputy Director of the Climate Change Administration Ministry of Environmental, and Dr. Yi-Wen Tsai, who discussed the gender stereotypes and challenges in the construction industry.

Through the gender equality policies of Kedge Construction Co., Ltd., they conducted an in-depth analysis of the current status and cultural values of gender in the industry so that students would understand the current situation and challenges faced by genders in the workplace.

Promoting gender equality in the construction industry requires policy support within the company as well as overall cultural transformation. The discussion by Manager Lan, Deputy Director Liu, and Dr. Tsai provided valuable experiences and insights for the students. To achieve true gender equality, not only efforts at the corporate level are needed, but also the joint efforts of the whole society, so that students could reflect on how to create a more inclusive and fairer workplace environment.
