There are about 4,200 female teachers (assistant professors and above) in the science and technology academic circle in Taiwan (data from the Ministry of Education in the 110th academic year), accounting for about 22% of all teachers in this field; there are about 200,000 female students in science and technology in colleges and universities (about 37% of such students). Both female teachers and female students are a minority in the same group. Therefore, we established the "Taiwan Women in Science and Technology Association" in October 2011, hoping to promote more women to participate in and significantly improve their science and technology expertise. In view of the purpose of this association, to encourage and cultivate women to participate in the field of science and technology, and to enable young members to increase international participation experience, this subsidy method was established.
